Lady Wigram Retirement Village Part ll

Posted June 26, 2023

Over the last few years we have been thankful to be part of the beautiful new Lady Wigram Retirement Village; supplying and installing stylish custom carpet as well as stunning engineered timber flooring throughout the complex. Over this past year, our team have been working hard completing the supply and install of the newest part of the village, the new Mustang Apartment wing.  This comprises 3 separate floors including apartments, lounges, hallways, dining, bar and communal areas. It was a huge undertaking but our team thrived on the challenge and the finished result is truly incredible, right down to the very last detail.

Walking into the newest building of the Lady Wigram Retirement Village could be compared to entering an exclusive 7 star resort. Exuding luxury, every detail has been carefully considered. From the colours and textures of the floor and wall coverings through to each piece of furniture and artwork gracing the rooms and walls. Modern and vintage styles are integrated together cohesively, creating a sense of harmony throughout the various spaces. Most importantly however, the building offers a genuine sense of warmth and comfort; it’s a place for the residents to truly call home.

With every project we work on, we are absolutely committed to completing it to the highest standard. The Lady Wigram Retirement Village was no different. In each stage of the process, from product selection through to installation, every detail was carefully considered to ensure that the floor coverings not only looked beautiful, but were also functionally suitable. Around 1900m2 of Westminster Premium Solution Dyed Nylon carpet by Belgotex was installed in the Mustang Apartments. This was chosen for its excellent stain and fade proof qualities as well as its superior sound absorption properties. Offering plush softness underfoot, it also creates an effortless sense of comfort and warmth. In the hallways (of which there are many!) over 300m2 of Ege custom designed patterned carpet (all the way from Denmark!) sets the scene through and is surrounded by stylish Westminster carpet as a border throughout.  It truly is a stunning feature of the building; one’s eye can’t help but be drawn to it!

The same Ege custom designed patterned carpet and Belgotex Westminster border carpet was installed in the various bar, dining, and lounge areas alongside stunning engineered timber flooring from Vidaspace. This was chosen for not only its beautiful aesthetic but also for its excellent durability. One of the unique details in these communal areas is the custom powder coated aluminum trims installed between the carpet and engineered timber. It was very important in these spaces that the two adjacent floor coverings remained flush to eliminate any trip hazards, providing a safe surface for both residents and staff to walk across. The carpet was also gradually ramped to ensure a seamless transition between the carpet and timber flooring. Our team really did go to great lengths to ensure that every detail was thought of and covered in this impressive project!
