Ami has been working with The Flooring Centre's flooring consultant Katrina for her last two renovations. She started her search for a carpet that would look and feel great while meeting her need for a budget conscious floor covering option.

Vermont in Storm Grey was her pick for the first home she renovated and she loved it so much she put it in her latest property flip too - this time adding the Vega DS luxury vinyl plank into the mix. With a tight budget and a drive to succeed Ami has taken a solid brick 1990's house and turned it into a modern and stylish family home. Check out the before and after photos below.

As a small extra she upgraded the underlay and swears it adds serious comfort to underfoot feel when you walk in the door - a tip she got from a friend. It can also help to prolong the life of your carpet, contribute to better insulation and help to insulate excess sound in the house. We can attest to walking in the door and really noticing the soft and luxurious feeling too!

Ami decided Resene Rice Cake was the perfect paint colour for the look she wanted to achieve and used it throughout this north facing home. It has created a light and bright interior that makes the space feel larger and more modern. With new Vermont Storm Grey carpet now flowing from the lounge through to the dining and into the hallway, there is real continuity through the space.

With the bones of the house being perfect for her to get it looking sharp without having to move walls or plumbing, the appearance of the home has been updated hugely with new paint, floor coverings and small upgrades to the bathroom and kitchen.

The addition of the luxury vinyl plank in the bathroom instantly adds to the modern monochrome look in the bathroom, perfectly offset by the new white tiles, shower and bath. The plank was selected because it found perfect harmony with the the carpet, and also the warmth of the existing timber doors and chocolate window frames. The warm and cool tones that flow through the plank make it versatile and work with a variety of interior looks.
