Matching and Mixing Timbers in Your Space

It's something that we come across all the time at The Flooring Centre. People come in with their photos and we help them to make the difficult decision about the best flooring option to pick for their space. The problem with flooring is that if you get it wrong, the chances are that you are going to have to live with that decision for a while - so here are some tips to get it right the first time.

5 Top Tips to help you out!
  1.  Try not to mix too many tones of timber together, it can quickly create a look that is too 'busy'.

  2. A warm tone can help to mix different timbers within the home to create a more cohesive look.

  3. Less is more when looking at the grains and knots that run throughout the timber or timber look floor you are considering - if you're trying to mix more than two kinds together.

  4. Make sure you consider everything in your home, the bench, the accessories you own, window frames if they're timber, your dining table...
