Timber Flooring

The Flooring Centre can provide every option in timber flooring, from traditional 19mm Solid tongue and groove planks or parquet, to the prefinished, engineered or floating floor systems.

If you are renovating, or building new we would highly recommend that you read about the New Zealand Building Code E3/AS1 updates that may mean you need to get your new flooring approved through council, or make allowances to meet the code.

Engineered Timber Flooring

Engineered timber flooring offers the look of a solid timber floor but has a firm manufactured backing that is designed to maintain your timber floor without warping for many years to come. Without the need for on-site sanding and polyurethane application, this means that your new floor can be installed quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption in your home.

The Flooring Centre only sells product from quality manufacturers that have precision engineered timber products with patented locking systems that ensure the joints remain firm and stable. Suppliers offer comprehensive guarantees covering construction and wear. Engineered timber flooring can be installed by either "floating floor" method or "direct stick" method. The direct stick method is more costly, but has the advantage of being much quieter underfoot.

Solid Timber Flooring

We pride ourselves in our knowledge, understanding and experience in solid timber flooring. We can advise on and source, nearly any species suitable for flooring use, (we only supply timber harvested from environmentally sustainable managed forests). From there we follow a strict installation procedure, ensuring that your beautiful new timber floor will remain trouble free on your floor for years to come. We have our own skilled craftsmen to take care of everything from the floor preparation, moisture barrier and installation process, right through to the sanding and polyurethane application.
